Why we could get a UK rate hike in November
192 views
As the Bank of England gears up to announce its latest rates decision, London-based trader Neil Staines explains that although he thinks we could expect a 7 to 2 vote this time around, November could be the month when rates rise in the UK. The MPC previously voted 7 to 2 against a rate hike in both August and September.
He also adds that he is "very positive" on the outlook for the UK in Q4. Although the Scottish Referendum may have subdued sentiment towards sterling, he thinks this setback shouldn't phase investors as the strength of the UK economy shouldn't be underestimated.
