Boye: Bonds back in business as concerns over Greece ease
383 views
Investors are returning to the European bond markets as concerns over Greece ease, says Saxo Bank’s Michael Boye. So what type of bonds are attracting the most interest?
According to Boye, there is increasing demand for European high yield corporate bonds. Investors are also showing an interest in government bonds from peripheral countries like Italy.
Sentiment in the market has been lifted by the Greek Parliament voting in favour of austerity measures in return for a new bailout as well as the ECB’s decision to extend emergency funding for Greek banks, says Boye. He expects sentiment to remain upbeat as Greece slips into the background and European growth once again becomes the main focus in the market.
