According to Ole Hansen, head of commodity strategy at Saxo Bank, there are several key events with regards to oil that we need to keep an eye on in January 2017.

Hansen says that the Chinese yuan may decrease, that Opec production cuts will be revealed and that the outcome of the Donald Trump presidency will start to be seen. Finally Hansen also points to a strong build up in speculative longs.
