Will deficit financing lead to a financial 'nightmare scenario' ?

Now, nearly two years after the crisis began, there are serious doubts about governments’ ability to maintain deficit financing. David Karsbøl, Chief Economist at Saxo Bank, believes a possibility exists of a ‘nightmare scenario’ where governments default on debt and bring the financial markets crashing down. The only real answer is to introduce austerity measures sooner rather than later. Investors should look to US stocks and German Bunds to avoid problems.
