Several orders placed with Airbus and Boeing  in the last couple of months have made it clear airlines are once again expecting business to improve.
Germany's Lufthansa, Japan Airlines and Malaysia Airlines are among carriers who are sizing up Airbus's new A350 wide-body jets and Boeing's rival 787 Dreamliner and revamped 777 models.
So with airlines spending more who will win the battle of the skies.
